Why work at ISE

At ISE we treat every security evaluation as a challenge. We're consistently pitting ourselves against some of the smartest security system designers in the industry. Working at ISE also means:

    * A relaxed work atmosphere with flexible hours. We expect our analysts to produce top quality work, and that means giving them a work environment that's conducive to creative thinking. While we occasionally need to crunch on a project, we generally don't believe that it's possible for our analysts to consistently work ridiculous hours and still produce good work.
    * The ability to pursue independent research. ISE analysts are creative people and are usually actively involved in pursuing security-related research. While we don't demand it, we want our people to spend some of their work hours contributing to projects or publishing in security conferences.
    * The opportunity to work on interesting and cutting-edge security systems. We don't spend our time running Nessus. The work we do is rarely boring, and it's important. We look at systems that are used by millions of people, and try to find flaws before someone else does.
    * Working with technical managers and peers. At ISE we believe that technical people work best when managed by technical people. The entire management staff at ISE has a background in computer security.

About ISE

Independent Security Evaluators is an information security consulting company founded in 2005. Our areas of expertise include software vulnerability analysis, network security and applied cryptography. Our president is Dr. Avi Rubin.

ISE was founded to provide rigorous, academically-oriented security expertise to the commercial sector. We have dozens of combined years of experience in evaluating and designing commercial security systems. Prior to founding ISE, our analysts implemented the first practical attack on 802.11b WEP; published a widely-read analysis of the Diebold Electronic Voting machine source code; and successfully reverse-engineered a cryptographic RFID device used to secure millions of automobiles. We founded ISE in order to apply our expertise and academic training to making commercial products more secure. In the past couple of years we've experienced phenomenal success, and have developed one of the industry's best software security groups.

ISE is located in Baltimore, Maryland.
